Crafted By My Heart is a project I co-founded while working at DDB Hong Kong, alongside Andreas Krasser, the Head of Strategy. The app offers a uniquely personal way to create customised jewellery—using the user’s heartbeat. It’s a fast, convenient, and heartfelt way to find a gift, where the design truly comes from the heart—quite literally.

Over a year in the making, the app works by leveraging the flash and camera of a smartphone, the app detects the user’s heartbeat and transforms it into a one-of-a-kind 3D rendering, which becomes a personalised piece of jewellery. This allows the app to record the rhythm of their heartbeat, which then shapes the jewellery design. Users can choose from two unisex templates and watch as their unique ring takes shape, driven by an algorithm that ensures no two designs are ever the same.

This pioneering initiative marked a milestone for DDB Group Hong Kong as the first product fully designed, produced, and launched by the agency. Its innovative approach and impact were recognised with multiple digital awards, celebrating the project’s creative and technological achievements.
